Face FS - 2012
The Face FS (floating soul) series is the artist's most emblematic work to date. Created with a first work in 2004, entitled Face FS4 The Monk, it was preceded by a short series of works from 2000 to 2003, entitled NP, for New painting.
The Face FS series coincides with this moment of synthesis in the artist's work, when recurring and essential elements give rise to an obviousness. The evidence of a coherent pictorial language, the result of years of research combined with the artist's own interests.
In this way, Face FS highlights the human element at a time when technology is becoming omnipresent, and has the capacity to change, standardize and orchestrate everything. The body of work since 2004 stands as a diagnosis that will challenge viewers, bringing them face to face with their own future: political, psychological, historical, simply human. His works are sometimes grouped into sub-series, in order to tackle more specific issues than a single general theme. In these cases, the pictorial materials, colors and staging change and adapt to the subject.

From 2011 - 2012, the artist's exhibitions in the USA will transform Face FS. The formats will be enlarged, and the artist will have to modify the pictorial flesh of the faces. Previously more ethereal and blended, the human flesh will take on a more imposing presence. The white space of the canvas, which was intended to be a "white space of light" with no trace of paint brushing, a "cradle of souls", will sometimes become a narrative space featuring a landscape, a secondary scene.
