For the artist, drawing has several roles: that of conceiving painted or sculpted works through studies and research, but also of deploying drawings in series, and having the status of finished works. These are created in a single medium or in mixed media. Mostly in black and white, but also in full color, or using color in highlights, the artist's drawings have the force of evidence of a life in the studio. The creative time devoted to them is often faster than that imposed by painting, giving the artist the freedom and lightning speed of action. It's the breaths and ardors of creation that give rhythm to studio work.
